Words are power and in the realms of business, words are the way in which you showcase your knowledge and expertise in your field of industry. The Joy of Pages is a publishing consultancy and copywriting company; starting out as a freelance editor and typesetter I turned my hand to writing articles and blogs and eventually pieces of advertisement.
Who Am I
The Joy of Pages is owned by David C. Hambling who has a Masters Degree in Publishing. David has experience working with self-publishing authors, publishers and ghost-writers.
My Mission
The Joy of Pages seeks to produce the highest quality written work, either for publication or for academic use. It also seeks to promote healthy well-being and confidence in young children, to combat the detrimental facets of life with social media.
What I Do
The Joy of Pages works closely with self-publishing authors, publishers and ghost-writers to produce industry standard books and papers. Using the latest Adobe software and understanding of traditional book design I can produce the highest quality books.
My Company's history
The Joy of Pages was founded in 2018 as a freelance editorial, proofreading and book design service which sought to work with authors, publishers and academics to produce the highest quality of written work. Since then it has gone on to design a number of books for a ghost writer and self-publishing authors, produce a book for Peregrine Publishing and Copestone Marketing. I have edited a number of small magazines and the first book being produced by Spirit Duplicator Publishing.
The Joy of Pages is copywriting for various SMEs and the University of Derby and now seeks to become a small independent publisher of children’s books, which promote confidence, health and well-being. Which is important in this time of social media anxiety and depression of our children.
Why choose me?
Using Adobe InDesign and Photoshop I can layout and design industry standard books which are ready for print and I can design and produce high quality book covers. I can produce high quality and fully interactive reflowable ebooks, which will work on all platforms.
I am experienced in editing and developing narratives within stories, picking out any inconsistencies and elements of narrative which may be detrimental to the overall story. I have a keen eye for details and I protect the author voice, so that their story is told the way that they want it to be.
I can give qualified advice on how to publish your book and to ensure that it will reach your audience. I have given publishing legal advice to authors on topics such as libel and copyright, so that authors do not get sued, I have also given advice on the best methods to get books into shops and into the hands of readers.
David Hambling has acquired a Masters Degree in Publishing and is an intermediate member of the Society for Editors and Proofreaders. He has worked with a number of authors, ghostwriters and publishers, gaining real industry experience to help you create and design your book.
